100% Gladbach, Dortmund and Frankfurt all make Bundesliga November XI
Borussia Mönchengladbach were one of three teams to secure maximum points in the Bundesliga in November and while they started December with a 2-0 loss at RB Leipzig, three wins from three last month means they remain Borussia Dortmund’s closest competitions at the summit of Germany’s top tier.
As expected, Gladbach, along with Dortmund, are the dominant side in the Bundesliga team of the month for November as they have three players in the best XI, including player of the month Thorgan Hazard (8.67). The Belgian had a direct hand in five goals in November, scoring three and assisting two for Gladbach, while returns of eight key passes and nine successful dribbles helped him secure the top award in Germany.
Teammate Alassane Plea (7.78) makes the cut on the opposite flank as the Frenchman thrived. He had a direct hand in four goals in November, including a hat-trick in a man of the match display against Werder Bremen. Plea operates ahead of Gladbach teammate Oscar Wendt (7.41), with the left-back playing a part in a defence that conceded just twice in November.
Lukasz Piszczek (8.07) and Dan-Axel Zagadou (7.53) are two of the three Dortmund players to make the XI, with VfB Stuttgart Timo Baumgartl (7.79) partnering the latter at the heart of the defence. The 22-year-old centre-back netted in the 2-0 win over Nuernberg, landing the man of the match gong in that victory.
Oliver Baumann (7.45) operates between the sticks in the XI after a solid November, which included the goalkeeper providing an assist in the entertaining 3-3 draw with Hertha Berlin. His Hoffenheim teammate Kerem Demirbay (8.15) takes his place in midfield as he earned the man of the match award in the aforementioned 3-3 draw with Hertha, a match he scored and assisted in.
Demirbay features alongside Dortmund’s Marco Reus (8.15) in the midfield, with the Germany international having a direct hand in four goals for the league leaders in November, as Dortmund maintained a 100% record last month. Two of Reus’ four goals came in a man of the match display in a 3-2 win over fierce rivals Bayern Munich and made key contributions in victories over Wolfsburg and Mainz 05.
Eintracht Frankfurt strike pair Luka Jovic (8.08) and Sebastien Haller (8.20) round off the XI. While there wasn’t another five-goal haul in a single match for Jovic, he still had a direct hand in four goals last month, scoring two and assisting two. Haller, too, thrilled for Frankfurt as he scored three and assisted one for a side that won three of three matches in November.
