Form Rankings: Manchester United flop now the most in form player in Europe

It’s all change atop the player form rankings in Europe’s top five leagues as Lionel Messi relinquishes top spot having only started three of Barcelona’s last six league matches.

The same could be said of Cristiano Ronaldo, who also still doesn’t feature having not started the requisite number of matches of late, and it’s a man that was hoping to replace the Portuguese at Old Trafford that claims top spot as a result.

Nice’s Alassane Plea retains his spot in third but is set for a big drop with his next appearance set to knock out the four goals he scored against Guingamp last month.

Meanwhile the highest new entrant is Marcelo Brozovic, straight in at four having been redeployed in a deeper midfield role to superb effect. The Croatian is at the heart of the Inter side and is pulling the strings from the middle of the park, shining in recent victories over Cagliari and Verona as well as the Milan derby at the start of April.

Elsewhere in Serie A, Luis Alberto has climbed a whopping 90 places after his match-winning display in a seven-goal thriller with Fiorentina. The Spaniard became only the fifth player, after Depay, to reach double figures for both goals and assists in Europe’s top five leagues.

The likes of Alejandro Gomez, Raheem Sterling, Tanguy Ndombele, David Silva and Lucas Leiva also leap onto the leaderboard, at the expense of Geoffrey Kondogbia, Willian and Paulo Dybala, who drops out from second having been hauled off at half-time in Juventus’ defeat to Napoli.
