WhoScored is getting even better! We are delighted to announce the launch today of a few new and improved features on the website which will give you, our users, greater access to an even larger selection of statistics.
Match Centre
We have updated the Match Centre to include lots of new stats, both for teams and players, and you can also now view those statistics in even more detail. For each individual stat it is now possible to see which players contributed most and least in that regard, whilst it is also possible to see further details of those events by clicking the 'More' tab once any stat has been selected.
Another great feature is the manually adjustable timeline. With this, you are able to view the stats from any match in any given time frame that you wish. You are thus able to view which player performed best in the final 15 minutes of the game, or who completed the most dribbles in the first half, or who made the most tackles in the 13 minutes before half time. You can see any stat in any period of the game you like.
The new Match Centre also includes information such as the managers, name of the stadium, weather conditions, referee and more.
Prefer the old match centre? Click on the 'Switch to old version' button above the top right corner of the match centre (highlighted in red box) to revert to the old version.
Chalkboard
The new Chalkboard feature allows you even greater insight into the statistics behind a match. Here, you can see the breakdown of any given statistic, visualised on an on-screen pitch by location of each event. It is possible to see the stats from every player or (de)select any number of players you wish.
You can see, for example, where any player(s) had a shot or the location of all of their passes, clearances or fouls. Furthermore, by clicking on any event on the chalkboard you will be given further details of that event and its outcome.
Again, there is a sliding minute-by-minute timeline for you to adjust so you can view the details of specific stats for any given period of any given game.
Tables
Our team and player statistics tables have also been updated to include more stats in the Summary, Defensive, Offensive and Passing tabs that we already had, while a new 'Detailed' tab has now been added.
Under this Detailed tab on player stats tables, there are lots more stats with plenty of sub categories for you to explore. Shots can be broken down into zones from which they were attempted, body parts, their accuracy or the situation from which they occurred. You can again choose different time frames and you can narrow down your search by home/away team, position, nationality and age. So, if you want to know which under-21 English central midfielder made the most unsuccessful dribbles in the first half of away Premier League games last season, WhoScored.com is the place to find out!
In team statistics tables for any given tournament you can compare even more detailed team stats with similar sub-categories as well as other ways of narrowing down your search, such as by formation.
We hope you all enjoy the new features on the site, but also that you appreciate they are a work in progress. Therefore, you may well find bugs or issues that need fixing and we would be grateful if you send us any that you find (or any aspects you particularly like) to info@whoscored.com
where can i read about how much a player ran in a match? Distance covered?
the new layout sucks. please make it possible to switch to the old one.
Great change ! Best football site !
pure sex
Fantastic! Thanks, this looks great!
Thats great thanks Who Scored
You are so great! Thank you!
Clearly best football site on the net. It really amazes me, why OPTA allow you to use this statistics. Whoscored is literally the only site that publish this kind of stuff for free. How are you able to do that?
@Zootball betting ads I guess?
How I Love This Website^^
One thing I am upset about in this change is that when you hover on a condensed no. in the player stat table, it doesn't show the real number anymore. Like in passes per game column, when you hovered the mouse over the ppg no. of a player, it would show the total passes. It doesn't anymore :/
Looks good
I have to agree with many of the negative comments, what was easy to find with regard to match statistics is now hidden and difficult to find. Going to three different areas to find the simplest of things is going to be a nightmare. As ever IT 'upgrades' are usually for IT not for the rank and file users.
Porn
It doesn`t work properly yet though. Many things, such as the live stats during the game, do not catch up with the action on the field.A team can have scored 3 goals already, but it still says " zero shots on goal "... Also the overview of the touches and dribbles of each player is poorer than before...
I think it would be a good addition the Goalkeepers should have their own specific stats, not applicable to other positions (like saving rate, nº of saves, saves per goal, etc.) otherwise we don't know where their rating came from, other than passing accuracy.
Its aesthetically pleasing but not quite functional.During live match stat updates it seems to freeze and then show all the stats to be zero while the previous one just does the update behind the scenes. Also I wonder just how effective it will be when the internet connection is very weak.I am a punter and use your information for my punting decisions on live bets thus any delay could be costly.Thank you
