Form Guide: Griezmann back to his best among Europe’s top 5 players
A stellar showing as Atletico Madrid thrashed Sevilla at the weekend has seen Antoine Griezmann jump to fifth in the form rankings in Europe’s top five leagues over the last six matches.
The France international endured a slow start to the season but a hat-trick and an assist at the weekend proved that the forward is well and truly back to his best, with six goals and two assists in his last six La Liga outings.
He’s now closing the gap on Eden Hazard in fourth after the Belgian was forced off in defeat at Manchester United, while the top three also remain unchanged, with Neymar leading the way from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, both of whom bagged braces in victories over Alaves and Girona respectively.
Elsewhere there is a monumental leap from Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is 23 today and celebrated in some style with a two-goal, man of the match showing at Sassuolo. His weekend rating of 9.30 replaces the far more modest 7.09 he earned at SPAL last month and sees the Serbian jump a massive 74 places and onto the leaderboard.
Napoli middle man Allan is up 13 places into 17th after a strong showing in the 5-0 win at Cagliari, while young Hannover centre-back Waldemar Anton is enjoying a purple patch and is now the highest rated defender in Europe over the last six games.
Liverpool hot shot Mo Salah jumps five spots up to 11th, while Casemiro and Edinson Cavani take places in the top ten at the expense of Florian Thauvin, down from sixth, and Niclas Fullkrug, who drops out of the leaderboard entirely.
