The agent of AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca has revealed several top clubs are chasing his signature but the Colombian is focused on staying at the club.
Bacca, 29, only joined Milan last summer and he has enjoyed a successful first campaign at the club even though they have failed to reach their seasonal objectives.
The former Sevilla striker has previously been linked with a move to Chelsea and China and his agent has confirmed there are clubs chasing his signature, although he isn’t interested in leaving the club.
“Milan signed him to score goals, and that’s what he’s doing,” his agent Sergio Barilla told Estadio Deportivo, via Football Italia. “Carlos is calm, he wants to win the Coppa Italia and qualify for next year’s Europa League.
“I often speak with Milan, and they tell me they’re happy with him. He still has many years on his contract with the Rossoneri. I don’t know what’s going to happen in the summer, but Bacca’s idea and that of the club was that of rebuilding a new Milan that would be great in Europe. At least that’s what they signed for.
“We’ll have to see whether the player or the club change their minds on that. Many teams asked about him in January, even in China. But Bacca told us that he wanted to stay in Milan. Recently these teams contacted me again with a view to the next transfer market. It’s only normal that top teams should be after a great player like him.”
Bacca scored the winning goal as Milan beat Sampdoria 1-0 at the weekend to take his tally to 15 goals for the league campaign. In fact, only Gonzalo Higuain (30) has scored more goals in Serie A than the Colombian (15).
