I think it has something to do with their punishment coming up, the powers that be are showing that they are in charge. I did think earlier it could have something to do with betting, although TPTB don't need money. I didn't bet as have given up gambling. I just thought I'd comment as I haven't seen any posts like yours which are similar to my theory and you have people belittling conspiracy theorists.
