Team News

Scotland
Hungary
  • Arsenal's Kieran Tierney is expected to miss out here having been forced off through injury against Switzerland on Wednesday.
  • Lawrence Shankland could be handed a start here in place of Che Adams.
  • Hungary boss Marco Rossi has no injury concerns ahead of their third group game.

Prediction

  • With Scotland on one point and Hungary on zero, this will be a straight shootout for third place in Group A.
  • The Scots took the lead against Switzerland on Wednesday evening, but had to settle for a draw after a remarkable Xherdan Shaqiri strike.
  • Hungary, meanwhile, were swept aside by hosts Germany, and will be hoping to turn in a much improved performance here.
  • A draw would be enough for Scotland to claim third place, but they will be mindful of whether two points will seal their passage to the last 16.

  • Scotland deserved this . All they played for was a draw

  • Dominik Szoboszlai To Score Anytime +270

  • 2:1

  • 1-2

  • 1-2 hungarians will rise to this challenge

  • 1:1

  • Expect an open game since both teams need to win, btts in minute 10 should be nice

  • A draw is not good for either. I'm not aware of any team in the past qualifying with 2 points. In 2021 the worst third placed qualifying team was Ukraine with 3 points and a -1 goal difference. Both teams will be going for a win, otherwise both of them are going home if it finishes level. Both teams looked better in their 2nd game and I expect both of them to improve even further given the high stakes. As always, press is biased towards the Western/Brittish team and many are calling the game for Scotland. The Hungarian camp is low on morale, but they are the better team all in all. They need Rossi's Italian "grinta" now more than ever. Scotland lacks the quality to squeeze out this win, but Hungary is hitting their rock bottom mentally. Still, Hungary has grinded out wins in recent past in situations like this. They can grab a narrow win.
