- Interim Aberdeen boss Neil Warnock made four changes from the Dons progressing in the Scottish Cup at Bonnyrigg Rose's expense on Saturday afternoon, before a mental match with Motherwell in midweek ended 3-3.
- Kelle Roos came back in between the sticks for Aberdeen, replacing Ross Doohan. Stefan Gartenmann accompanied Nicky Devlin and Jack MacKenzie in the Dons' three-man defence, replacing Angus MacDonald.
- Richard Jensen made way for Connor Barron to start in midfield, as Aberdeen shifted to a 3-5-1-1. Jamie McGrath supported lone striker Bojan Miovski but Duk came off the bench to save the day for the Dons, as they came from three down so could start this weekend.
- Hibs boss Nick Montgomery named three changes to the Hibernian team that was hit by a late sucker punch against Celtic in a 2-1 loss at Easter Road, before they advanced in the Scottish Cup thanks to a 3-1 win up in Inverness on Saturday.
- Luke Amos made his first Hibernian start in the middle of the park, accompanying Joe Newell and Nathan Moriah-Welsh, a January addition from the English Premier League's AFC Bournemouth, in midfield at Dylan Levitt's expense.
- English Championship side Sunderland's loanee Eliezer Mayenda made his first Hibs start in attack, replacing Élie Youan. Dylan Vente dropped onto the bench as Myziane Maolida returned to the starting eleven for the Hibees in the Highlands.
