- Hearts boss Steven Naismith made four changes after the Jambos recorded back-to-back defeats as they lost late on to Aberdeen at Pittodrie 2-1, before a shock 2-0 victory over Celtic at Parkhead last weekend.
- Kye Rowles, Frankie Kent and Stephen Kingsley, who scored a cracking free-kick, continued as the Jambos' back three. Alex Cochrane started at left wing-back, with Nathaniel Atkinson taking Toby Sibbick's place on the right.
- Two alterations came in midfield as Jorge Grant and Aidan Denholm joined Beni Baningime, replacing Calem Nieuwenhof and Alex Lowry. Alan Forrest joined Lawrence Shankland, who headed Hearts in front, in attack in place of Kenneth Vargas.
- Stephen Robinson named one change to the St Mirren side which clinched a 2-0 victory over Ross County in Paisley, before they were held at home by Motherwell in a goalless draw last weekend.
- Richard Taylor rejoined Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' backline, at Charles Dunne's expense. Ryan Flynn was filling in at right wing-back but joins Ryan Strain out injured, so Thierry Small took his spot on the flank.
- Caolan Boyd-Munce made way for Keanu Baccus to accompany club captain Mark O'Hara, who had his spot-kick saved on Saturday, in midfield. Greg Kiltie pushed further forward to support Stav Nahmani and Jonah Ayunga in attack.
