Team News

Hull
Sheff Wed
  • Liam Rosenior could make two changes to the side that faced Norwich last time out in the league with Aaron Connolly and Xavier Simons both coming in for starts.
  • Allahyar Sayyadmanesh, Dogukan Sinik and Greg Docherty all remain sidelined for the home side ahead of the visit of Sheffield Wednesday.
  • Xisco Munoz could make changes to the side that faced Southampton with the most likely being the return of Reece James.
  • Defensive duo Pol Valentin and Bambo Diaby made their Sheffield Wednesday debuts in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night, but neither look set to start on Saturday.

Prediction

  • Hull kicked off their season last weekend in frustrating fashion, conceding in injury time of both halves in a 2-1 away defeat to Norwich. Even more concerning were the statistics from that game, with the Canaries taking 28 shots against Liam Rosenior's side. A midweek Carabao Cup defeat to Doncaster will do little to calm the nerves among Hull fans heading into Saturday's game.
  • A late Che Adams goal stopped Sheffield Wednesday from picking up an impressive point at home against recently-relegated Southampton in the opening game of the EFL season last Friday. Xisco Munoz's side offered little going forward in that game though, and with just 20.1% of the possession, the Owls are clearly prepared to sit back when the time comes this season.
