Team News

Liverpool
Brentford
  • Alexis Mac Allister is suspended, and that may see Wataru Endo start in the Argentine's absence.
  • Curtis Jones is also ruled out, as is Andy Robertson, Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago.
  • Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch missed the 3-2 Europa League loss in Toulouse but should return.
  • Mark Flekken will be assessed having been forced off at the break against West Ham, with Thomas Strakosha on hand to deputise if required.
  • Keane Lewis-Potter is also a doubt but Thomas Frank has no fewer than seven confirmed absentees for Sunday's trip to Liverpool.
  • The Brentford boss may make minimal changes to the XI that started against West Ham last week.

Prediction

  • Liverpool rescued a late point at Luton last Sunday but there were no such heroics at Toulouse on Thursday night as the Reds fell to just their second defeat in all competitions this season. Jurgen Klopp's side have won their two home league meetings with Brentford.
  • The Bees came from behind to make it three wins on the spin at West Ham's expense last weekend. Brentford ended a three-game away day winless run last time out on their travels, though a trip to Anfield is far tougher to navigate that a meeting at west London rivals Chelsea.
  • Liverpool have won every home game this season. Expect that run to continue on Sunday.

  • Liverpool it's a deserved winner, til the moment, but come on, that 2nd goal the ball was completely out of line, even Mo didn't celebrate it thinking the ball was outside. A very slow level of referees in last months, I feel disappointed

  • @dib To my, the ball didn't look completely over the line and VAR looked and cleared it. Salah not celebrating doesn't necessarily mean that he is convinced that the ball crossed the line, merely that his celebration was muted due to uncertainty. You can only be disappointed if you're 100% right. At the moment, you're not.
