Team News

Man City
Man Utd
  • Jack Grealish, Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias will all have to be assessed before this game after they missed the loss against Brentford owing to injuries.
  • Kevin De Bruyne likewise did not play against the Bees, but should be fit enough to return to the starting lineup here.
  • Donny van de Beek, Lisandro Martinez, Marcel Sabitzer and Tom Heaton all remain sidelined with injury.
  • Anthony Martial has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.
  • Antony was stretchered off with an ankle injury against Chelsea last week, so will have to be assessed before this game.

Prediction

  • Manchester City come into this game winless in their last two, though those games came after they had already won the Premier League. Pep Guardiola's side are yet to concede a goal in the FA Cup this season and have scored 17 goals in their five games. City have lost three of their last four trips to Wembley in the FA Cup, all coming in semi-finals, winning the competition last in 2019.
  • Manchester United secured third place in the Premier League after winning their last four games in a row, in the lead up to this game. Except for the semi-final, which they won on penalties against Brighton, Erik ten Hag's side have won all of their other four FA Cup matches this season by a 3-1 scoreline. United have already won silverware at Wembley this season when they won the League Cup in February. They have won only two of their last five finals in the FA Cup, winning the competition last in 2016.
  • There will of course be added pressure given it's a Manchester derby, with City looking to complete a treble this season and United looking to stop them, as well as win a domestic cup double. However, with the Champions League final next weekend for the Citizens, the Red Devils may take advantage to win here.

  • Nah that second City goal was savable. You could see from miles away that Gündogan is going to try the volley shot and even when De Gea's view wasn't the best the ball came slow as hell.

  • @ChrisNeverMiss Is always easier to type on the keyboard. Fernandes penalty, according to your logic, was also savable. So all square.

  • Apart from the 2 goals from Gündogan which were kind of dodgy and could have been saved, City didn't have good chances. You can't expect much more from these Utd players and Ten Hag. They're just not at the same level. The people who bought those players deserve the blame.

  • @alx30 MU had even less than Man City and their penalty was quite controversial. From the other side, the last City matches were just moderate level, it looks the peak of form is behind, players need rest.

  • @alx30 Both teams performed below their best levels and we are all used to seeing better from them. You can't fault Gundogan for scoring though, midfielders are supposed to take the outside chances that come their wayand his instinct for that 1st shot was extraordinary. They are much more difficult to save than they may appear on TV because the trajectory isn't predictable. The first goal dipped and the second bounced. Probably should have saved the 2nd tho

  • gundogan the Clutch player

  • City this year is proof that the use of fullbacks is outdated

  • ETH must get some quality players and they will beat that Fartdiola tactics every time they play

  • @koziol.mutant 4 prem titles in 5 years tf is he a fraux0_0

  • @koziol.mutant and if my grandma had wheels she'd be a motorcycle..

  • @koziol.mutant You say that no tactics manager can win with more quality players. ETH as a manager is cringe as hell, look how he always makes ManU lose with his stupid subs using

  • KDB and Gundogan are on fire.

  • Ridiculous penalty but no one is surprised. Matches with an English ref in charge should always have an asterisk attached to them

  • Man Utd with VAR in their pocket

  • never a penalty, VAR joke

  • Another assist for KDB ! :)

  • game of chess, 0-0

  • @3shots that aged well!

  • @3shots Checkmate in dour passes, I guess.

  • Rashford with an early goal. Manchester United to win 0-1.

  • @Leproffy 0_0

  • Casemiro to be shown a card .

  • 3-1

  • Manchester city 2 Manchester united 1

  • KDB has registered 9 assists in his last 11 starts for MC and has a good record against MU.

  • Man City 2-0

  • Man Citeh 1 Man United 2

  • City - all day long

  • This will be the 62nd game of Man Utds campaign and the 60th of Man Citys so fatigue may set in.

  • @Marbella .....So you think both teams will lose?

  • @Camberwick No just saying it may be a more open game than it usually would due to the long season.

  • 7 of the last 10 domestic cup finals have gone under 2.5 goals.

  • antony injury, big disadvantage for united. right wing cannot balance

  • @JasonZL Antony will not be missed as he has not done much this season except to try stupid things when he has possession of the ball.

  • @Marbella Anton has no experience and is a Street Panna player not a footballer. I am surprised Man U bought him for so much and didn’t get Ziyech who ETH know how to use. Man U would have been successful with Ziyech, who , if gone from toxic Chelsea would have been the player the world knew at Ajax

  • 1-0 Manchester

  • @FF2021 Not funny.

  • MC 1-0 MU
