Team News

Wolves
Everton
  • Adama Traore joined in a club-record deal on Wednesday but is not 100% fit due to a shoulder injury. Nuno may hold back the powerful winger here.
  • Ivan Cavaleiro is a doubt for Wolves but is expected to start on the right due to Traore's shoulder problem. Helder Costa is another option for the home side.
  • Raul Jimenez and Léo Bonatini will compete for a starting berth through the middle.
  • Deadline day signing Leander Dendoncker is not expected to be involved for his new club this weekend.
  • Everton signed Yerry Mina on deadline day but the Colombia defender won't be involved this weekend, meaning Phil Jagielka and Michael Keane will start at the heart of Everton's defence.
  • New signings Lucas Digne and Richarlison will hope to play, but this wekeend will come too soon for other deadline day arrivals Bernard and Andre Gomes.
  • Maarten Stekelenburg will be named in goal if Jordan Pickford is not deemed fit enough to start following his late return from the 2018 World Cup.

Prediction

  • Wolves will make their highly anticipated Premier League return against Everton in Saturday's late kick off. Nuno's side cantered to the Championship title last season and have made a number of eye-catching signings to strengthen their squad over the summer.
  • Everton replaced Sam Allardyce with former Watford boss Marco Silva over the summer and have reunited the Portuguese with winger Richarlison. There will be a lot of pressure on Silva at Goodison Park and they have been handed a tough opener on Saturday.
  • This should be a thoroughly entertaining game that's hard to split. Wolves will be thankful for home advantage in their league opener and will hope their supporters can get them over the line to kickstart what could be a promising campaign for the club.
