Nottingham Forest dominate the Premier League Team of the Week with five players following their 7-0 win over Brighton. Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Liverpool and Everton are also represented in the side. 

 

Matz Sels (Nottingham Forest) – 8.08 

 

Even in a 7-0 win, Matz Sels had to work hard to keep a clean sheet against Brighton on Saturday afternoon. The Belgian made six saves to return a WhoScored rating of 8.08 and is the first of five Nottingham Forest representatives to make the Team of the Week. 

 

 

Chris Richards (Crystal Palace) – 8.03 

 

Crystal Palace claimed an impressive 2-0 victory at Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, a match in which Chris Richards excelled at the back. The 24-year-old won four aerial duels, and made 10 clearances, five tackles and two interceptions on his way to a WhoScored rating of 8.03. 

 

James Tarkowski (Everton) – 8.03 

 

James Tarkowski registered his first assist of the season in Everton’s resounding 4-0 home win over Leicester on Saturday, that coming from his only key pass. Tarkowski was on hand to guarantee the clean sheet, too, as he made 10 clearances to, like Richards, return a WhoScored rating of 8.03. 

 

Maxence Lacroix (Crystal Palace) – 8.61 

 

The star performer in Crystal Palace’s win at Manchester United, Maxence Lacroix is good value for his inclusion with a WhoScored rating of 8.61. The Eagles centre-back made 11 clearances, four interceptions and three tackles, and won four aerial duels, to round off the defence. 

 

 

Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 8.66 

 

Mohamed Salah scored goals 20 and 21 for the season in Liverpool’s fine 2-0 win at Bournemouth on Saturday. The Reds ended the Cherries 11-game unbeaten run with Salah bagging a brace from four shots. Salah also made two key passes and completed two dribbles to land a WhoScored rating of 8.66. 

 

Thomas Partey (Arsenal) – 8.57 

 

The first of two Arsenal players in the side, Thomas Partey scored his third league goal of the season to fire the Gunners back in front in the second half in their eventual 5-1 win over Manchester City. Partey also made five tackles and two interceptions to make the XI. 

 

Morgan Gibbs-White (Nottingham Forest) – 8.84 

 

Morgan Gibbs-White netted his fifth league goal of the season as Nottingham Forest romped to a 7-0 win over Brighton in Saturday’s lunchtime kick off. The 25-year-old struck with one of three shots, and played his part off the ball as he made three tackles to help return a WhoScored rating of 8.84. 

 

Neco Williams (Nottingham Forest) – 9.17 

 

Neco Williams scored his first league goal of the season against the Seagulls on Saturday, getting the better of Bart Verbruggen with one of two efforts at the City Ground. Williams was also key in guaranteeing the clean sheet as he made six tackles and three tackles to land a WhoScored rating of 9.17.

Anthony Elanga (Nottingham Forest) – 9.91 

 

With a WhoScored rating of 9.91, Anthony Elanga is the Premier League Player of the Week. Elanga registered a hat-trick of assists from three key passes against Brighton, while two dribbles and two aerial wins capped a fine showing from the Swede. 

 

Chris Wood (Nottingham Forest) – 9.54 

 

Leading the charge with a WhoScored rating of 9.54, Chris Wood netted a hat-trick against Brighton from four shots. The powerhouse Nottingham Forest forward also won three aerial duels to make the cut. 

 

Kai Havertz (Arsenal) – 8.78 

 

The second Arsenal player in the side completes the XI. Kai Havertz was directly involved in two of the Gunners’ five goals in Sunday’s fine 5-1 win over Manchester City, getting the better of Stefan Ortega with one of four shots and providing one assist with his only key pass. Havertz was solid in possession, too, returning a 92.9% pass success rate from 28 passes to feature with a WhoScored rating of 8.78.
