Real Madrid talisman Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted he could play alongside Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney before both call time on their illustrious careers.
Ronaldo and Rooney spent six years together at United before Ronaldo made a world record move to Madrid in 2009 and the Portugal international has been linked back to Old Trafford ever since.
Madrid’s record scorer in La Liga features in an upcoming documentary on Rooney’s life and revealed the two could still play with each other, although did not disclose whether that could be back at United.
“We won every trophy… he’s a fantastic boy and he helped me a lot,” Ronaldo is quoted as saying in The Daily Telegraph. “It was amazing to play with him. But the future, nobody knows, maybe we will play one day together again.”
Ronaldo has progressed into one of the best players of all time since leaving United having scored 230 league goals in just 206 appearances.
