Inter are interested in signing Andreas Christensen but would have to pay Chelsea in the region of €25m (£22.4m) to sign the defender, reports Tuttosport.
Christensen has returned to Chelsea this summer after spending the last two years on loan at Bundesliga side Gladbach, but it remains to be seen whether he features in Antonio Conte’s plans this season.
Conte has already signed Roma defender Antonio Rudiger this summer but his decision to loan Kurt Zouma to Stoke did at least give the impression Christensen will have the chance to make an impact ahead of the new season.
However, the Denmark international has been heavily linked with a move away all summer and now Inter are the latest side to express an interest, although a loan move with an obligatory option to make the switch permanent appears the most likely outcome.
Inter have been completely overshadowed in the transfer market by city rivals AC Milan but have spent nearly £50m themselves, including the arrival of Sampdoria centre-back Milan Skriniar. With Gary Medel and Jeison Murillo expected to leave Inter this summer, Luciano Spalletti will need to sign another centre-back and Christensen is one of their targets.
In the last two Bundesliga campaigns, Christensen has completed more passes in his own half of the pitch than any other player in the division (2680).
