Ruben Neves has vowed to stay at Wolves next season and help them in their first Premier League season in six years.
The Portugal international joined Wolves from Porto in a shock deal last summer and has comfortably been one of the best players in the Championship.
Neves, who captained Porto in the Champions League at the age of 17, has been heavily linked with a summer exit following his impressive performances this term.
However, the 21-year-old is ready to stay at Wolves next season and help them in their bid to beat the drop after securing their promotion to the Premier League this weekend.
“Yes, I would like to stay,” The Sun quote Neves as saying on Sunday. “Honestly, I love to play here with Wolves. I love the boys, I love the club and I love the fans. I am really happy here.
“In football we never know – but of course I am looking forward to my first season in the Premier League. It is the place that Wolves deserves to be.
“If it is possible, I would like to stay here to have my first year in the Premier League. I came here to improve myself and help the club. Fortunately I have improved in a really good league.
“Now we are in the Premier League and that’s the most important thing.”
Neves has featured in all but four of Wolves league matches this season and the starlet will be integral to their hopes of fending off the threat of relegation next season.
The Wolves star has scored more goals from outside the box than any other Championship player this season (6).
Great news for Wolves. Really looking forward to seeing them in the Premier League next season, especially for Neves
