Liverpool to face competition from Real Madrid for Spanish starlet
Liverpool are ready to step up the interest in Valencia starlet Ferran Torres but will face competition from Barcelona and Real Madrid for his signature, claims The Daily Mirror.
Torres was flagged early on through Liverpool's data-driven player idenitify process but Jurgen Klopp's side have been particularly impressed with his campaign this season.
Liverpool are expected to bolster their wide areas in the summer with a view on the fact Mo Salah and Sadio Mane could miss a chunk of the 2020/21 campaign.
Torres' versatility on both wings is appealing to the Premier League leaders, as is the fact he is also capable as an aerial threat.
The 20-year-old notably reserved his best performances for the Champions League this season, where he played a direct hand in four goals in six appearances.
Furthermore, Torres' WhoScored rating increases from 6.85 in LaLiga to 7.47 in the Champions League.
