Team News

Boavista
Benfica
  • 17-year old Tomé Sousa had a decent performance last time around but he might be replaced by César in goal.
  • Seba Pérez should make another Starting XI appearance as Reisinho remains injured.
  • Akturkoglu scored in each of his two appearences with his new club and will be full of beans here.
  • Kabouré might start at the right-hand side of the defense after Bah got injured last time around.

Prediction

  • After winning the first game, Boavista were unable to follow up and haven't won since. Nevertheless, in their last game they picked up a valuable point against Estrela away from home, which could motivate Cristiano Bacci's men.
  • Benfica had to work hard to beat Red Star in midweek, but they picked up their second win under Bruno Lage, having beaten Santa Clara the previous weekend 4-1. The team seems looser under the new coach and the attacking process has flowed much better.
  • Benfica's recent memories at the Estadio do Bessa aren't the best, having lost 3-2 at Boavista last time out. Even so, given Benfica's form and the limitations of the axadrezados, the Reds can be expected to take the three points.
