Team News

Osasuna
Villarreal
  • Not many changes will be expected of Osasuna as the only remaining absentee is Jesus Areso with a fibula fracture.
  • Osasuna have lined up with a multitude of different formations of late, but usually the personnel used in the starting XI remains constant.
  • Villarreal's injury list has been shortening in the last couple of months, but there still remains some important names on it. Ruben Pena will be out for a lengthy period of time, but Gerard, Alcácer and Coquelin could all return in the coming weeks.
  • Arnaut Danjuma has been playing through the middle since he regained fitness alongside new signing Giovani Lo Celso who drops in behind him, so if Boulaye Dia isn't rotated into the lineup, we can expect to see this again.

Prediction

  • Osasuna are firmly sat in midtable, despite going through a relatively poor run of form that has persisted since the new year. It's now approaching a month since their last win. Moreover, only Mallorca, Cadiz and Alaves have scored less than Osasuna in La Liga this season and those teams are all around the relegation zone.
  • Villarreal, on the other hand, have one of the best defensive records in the league, as only Real Madrid and Sevilla have conceded less times than Unai Emery's side. Villarreal have already lost away to Osasuna this season and games between the two are usually feisty, open affairs.
  • Villarreal are the strong favourites this weekend, however. They have scored 11 times and conceded only twice across their last four league games and should run out winners here.
