Salah and Hazard untouchable atop Premier League player form rankings
Here we run through the top 10 form players in the Premier League and assess how the weekend’s performances have impacted the list.
10. Diogo Jota (Wolves) – 7.48 weighted rating, up two places
Diogo Jota has broken into the top-10 rated form players in the Premier League despite a drop in weighted rating over his last six appearances. He has managed this due to the fact the likes of James Maddison (down 18 places) and Sadio Mane and Ayoze Perez (both down nine places) have dropped out completely. Jota has scored three goals and provided one assist in his last six league games.
9. Sergio Rico (Fulham) – 7.49 weighted rating, up five places
Fulham’s baffling three-game winning run came to an end at the weekend at the hands of Wolves but Sergio Rico at least turned in another positive display. The 25-year-old has endured a miserable maiden campaign in England but has excelled in his last four appearances, keeping three clean sheets in a row and winning successive WhoScored Man of the Match awards in 1-0 wins over Bournemouth and Fulham.
8. Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool) – 7.58 weighted rating, up 25 places
Virgil van Dijk has been a regular in the top 10 this season and is back in the mix after another goalscoring display at the weekend. The Liverpool centre-back is up 25 places after netting in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Newcastle. Only on one occasion has Van Dijk’s WhoScored rating dipped below 7.00 in his last six league outings for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
7. Bernardo Silva (Manchester City) – 7.62 weighted rating, down three places
Bernardo Silva falls three places in the top 10 but due to other players in the league excelling rather than a real decline in his own performances. The Manchester City star has played a direct hand in three goals in his last six league appearances and he would place higher had it not been for a 25-minute substitute appearance against Crystal Palace earlier in April where he could only garner a WhoScored rating of 6.25.
6. Ricardo Pereira (Leicester) – 7.69 weighted rating, up seven places
Ricardo Pereira was a real threat for Leicester in their narrow 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Monday and it continues his good recent form. The 25-year-old has not garnered a WhoScored rating below 7.00 in any of his last six appearances, in which time he has assisted two goals for the Foxes. Pereira is currently in a three-way battle with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a place in the WhoScored team of the season in the Premier League.
5. Ryan Fraser (Bournemouth) – 7.73 weighted rating, up 24 places
Ryan Fraser looks destined to secure a higher profile move in the summer following what has been a remarkable campaign for the Bournemouth ace. Some of the biggest clubs in England are looking at Fraser and it’s no surprise after he registered his 14th assist of the league campaign at the weekend – only one player in Europe’s top five leagues has more. The 25-year-old is the biggest mover in our top 10 form rankings, improving his standing by 24 places. Fraser has played a direct hand in five goals in his last six league appearances.
4. Lucas Digne (Everton) – 7.78 weighted rating, up two places
Lucas Digne is up two places in our player form rankings after helping Everton to a routine win over Burnley on Friday night. Everton have only conceded in one of their last six league appearances, with Digne playing an important role at both ends of the pitch. Digne has two WhoScored Man of the Match awards in his last six league appearances and his rating has finished below 7.00 just once in that time.
3. Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) – 7.84 weighted rating, up four places
The race between Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson to finish the season with the most assists in the Premier League will go down to the wire. Alexander-Arnold has remarkably got himself into contention with a run of five assists in his last six league matches, including two in a 3-2 win away to Newcastle on Saturday. Robertson and Alexander-Arnold and both tied on 11 assists each heading into the final league game of the season, an extraordinary return for two full-backs at the same club.
2. Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – 8.11 weighted rating, non-mover
Liverpool will hope Mohamed Salah will be able to recover from injury in time to take part in their last game of the season after being ruled out of Tuesday’s Champions League semi-final clash with Barcelona. Salah managed to score his 22nd league goal of the season before being forced off against Newcastle at the weekend and has now netted in four of his last five league matches, scoring five goals in that time. Salah will head into the final weekend as the outright top scorer in the division, two clear of his nearest challenger.
1. Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – 8.29 weighted rating, non-mover
Eden Hazard appears to have delivered Chelsea the perfect leaving present after securing the west London outfit a top four finish and Champions League football for next season with another influential display at the weekend. Hazard supplied two assists, taking his tally to 15 for the season in the league, as Chelsea overcame Watford 3-0 on Sunday. The 28-year-old has played a direct hand in seven goals in his last six league appearances for the Blues (four goals, three assists).
