The top tip from each of tonight's Premier League fixtures
Seven Premier League games. Seven Premier League tips. Take your pick from our top selections on Wednesday night.
West Ham vs Arsenal - West Ham to score first
Arsenal have conceded the first goal in four of their last five away matches. In fact, in the last seven games that the Gunners have conceded they have always fallen behind. Considering West Ham scored the opener against Manchester City and Chelsea in their last two outings, and given Arsenal’s poor away record, odds on the Hammers to score first can be found at 2.93.
Manchester United vs Bournemouth - Draw at HT
United’s performance in the Manchester derby was underwhelming to say the least and their form has been below par for some time now, with Paul Pogba’s absence keenly felt once more. Bournemouth, meanwhile, are in decent form, losing just one of their last six, and they’ve generally been solid in the early exchanges of matches. Since losing their first four games of the season they’ve only been trailing at half time in one of their last 12 league games and United’s earliest goal in their last six home games has come in the 45th minute. You can find that odds on a draw at half time are as high 1.92.
Tottenham vs Brighton - Son any time scorer
Resounding favourites at home against a Brighton side that has lost five of eight away games this season, scoring just five times in the process, the odds on Harry Kane to score any time are unsurprisingly low. Instead there’s real value to be had in Heung-Min Son finding the net for the fourth game running, with the Korean international having scored in five of his last six starts. His odds are as high as 2.50.
Liverpool vs West Brom - West Brom +1.5 handicap
Following on from their derby disappointment, Liverpool’s visit of West Brom may seem like a favourable fixture, but the Reds have had real problems negotiating the Baggies in recent years. While undefeated in their last seven meetings, four of said matches have ended in draws and when Liverpool have managed to win in that time it’s been by a single goal only, while their visitors may be on a terrible run, but have lost by more than one goal just once in their last ten. With that in mind a bet on the handicap markets is worthwhile, with West Brom +1.5 up at 2.44.
Swansea vs Manchester City - Both teams to score
At present there doesn’t really seem like a bigger mismatch in the Premier League but while Manchester City are romping their way to the title, Guardiola’s men have been far from watertight at the back. They’ve struggled defensively in the absence of John Stones, conceding in all but one of their last seven league games, while the last seen meetings between these sides have seen both teams to score. You’ll rarely see higher odds than 2.10 on that market, but that’s exactly what is being offered at the Liberty tonight.
Southampton vs Leicester - Double chance
Claude Puel’s return to St. Mary’s will be one of the main talking points in this one, and the Frenchman will no doubt feel he has a point to prove to the Saints board. His Leicester tenure has started very well, with just one defeat to runaway leaders Manchester in seven games thus far, while a run of three consecutive league wins is something he never managed for his former employers. Only Manchester City (8) are on a longer unbeaten streak away from home than the Foxes and a double chance bet on the visitors stretching their current record to seven can be found at 1.83.
Newcastle vs Everton - Away win
While progress in the impending takeover at Newcastle has buoyed the fans off the pitch their side is really struggling on it, picking up just one point from the last 21 available. They face a resurgent Everton under former Magpies boss Sam Allardyce, who loves getting one over on his former employers, and the Toffees have an excellent record in this fixture, winning six of the last seven meetings between the sides. Odds on a repeat are extremely high at 3.30 with 10Bet and you can get them here.
